CRRA 2026 Volunteers

The California Resource Recovery Association is proud to announce the Call for 2026 Conference Volunteers. Potential volunteers are encouraged to apply for CRRA’s Annual Conference to be held in San Diego, CA from August 30-September 2. Deadline for applications is March 27, 2026.

Volunteering at CRRA paved the way for my career in resource recovery in California. It was a great way to connect with the industry, learn about the latest regulations and innovative programs around the state, and get inspired at a time when I didn’t with the financial resources to attend on my own. I continued to volunteer because it was a great way to connect and support a community that has done so much for me.

VOLUNTEER QUOTES:

“My experience volunteering with CRRA has been an overwhelmingly positive one! I feel as though volunteering is an essential opportunity for both those who are just starting in the solid waste industry and want to make connections, as well as anyone who may be interested in gaining some large event operations work experience. While it is a large event with numerous sessions and activities occurring in a very short period, it has always felt very organized, especially regarding the management of our volunteer cohorts.”

- Max, CRRA Volunteer

My most memorable year of volunteering was 2016. I was graduating college and completely new to the industry. I remember completely ‘fan girling’ that Dana Gunders was speaking and I got to listen to her presentation in real life. I was so inspired by all of the presentations; I knew the waste industry was for me.
By volunteering I was able to meet a ton of new people, who are now my colleagues and friends.
