Behavior-Based Strategies Council
Mission Statement
The Behavior-Based Strategies Council is dedicated to driving tangible improvement in waste reduction and recycling behavior through leveraging expertise across all CRRA technical council membership. This TC will convene experts in behavior change, behavior-centered design, DEI, and other evidence-based public engagement methodologies to bring fresh perspectives and guide the broader CRRA membership in increasing the impact of zero waste systems. By showcasing proven, people-centered, and supportive interventions, this TC will equip CRRA membership with solutions to increase the capture of recyclable and compostable materials, drive household and building occupant participation in waste reduction, commercial participation in resource recovery, and proper behaviors related to reuse, refill, recycling, composting, waste reduction and contamination minimization, sustainable procurement programs, and build greater public confidence in zero waste systems.
About Us
This group was formed with the knowledge that many existing stakeholder groups, including those represented by other Technical Councils, actively implement Behavior Change themes in their own work. Membership of this TC will consist of those that are actively involved in waste reduction, reuse, refill, recycling, composting, and sustainable procurement outreach and education communications or campaigns or interested in Behavior Change methodologies.

UPCOMING MEETINGS
BBSC meetings happen quarterly with interactive and informative content.
JOIN THE CONVERSATION
This TC seeks to connect people working on studying, planning, and implementing Behavior Change methodologies in their own waste reduction, reuse, refill, recycling, composting, and sustainable procurement programs, as well as those supporting said programs, and anyone interested in Behavior Change methodologies. Understanding that many existing groups, including those represented by other Technical Councils, actively implement Behavior Change themes in their own work, we want to develop cross-collaboration opportunities to make positive change. Will you join the conversation on the BBSC on Mobilize?
