Who We Are
Members of the Edible Food Recovery Technical Council are staff from local government agencies (cities and counties), collection companies, consultants, food industry or other stakeholders donating food, and edible food recovery entities. The goal is to have a mix of members from the Southern, Central and Northern districts. We have 14 positions.
Mauricio has been the Chief Operations Office for Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen for 3.5 years, serves as Vice Chair of both the Edible Food Recovery and the Local Agency Technical Councils of CRRA, is a Non-Governmental Organization Representative at Technical Advisory Committee (Santa Clara Couny Recycling and Solid Waste Commission), and is a Certified Pracitioner in Zero Waste Principles and Practices (SWANA/CRRA).
Lisa is a Sustainable Materials Management Specialist with a passion for organics programs. As a Zero Waste Program Coordinator and Environmental Programs Consultant, she has over 5 years of experience in the solid waste industry, specifically working with municipalities. Lisa created SCS’s SB 1383 Roadmap and is currently assisting municipalities with California’s SB 1383 compliance activities. She is research oriented, with a strong background in community-based social marketing; outreach and education; data gathering and analysis; and project management.
Julia is a Recycling Specialist with the City of Oakland. She has supported the administration of the City's franchise agreements with Waste Management and California Waste Solutions including performance and compliance tracking and analysis, overseen the City's Recycling Hotline, tracked the promulgation of planned for complaince with landmark SB 1383 Short-Lived Climated Pollutants regulations, administered the Disposable Foodware Ordinance and participated in the Regional Mandatory Reusable Foodware Ordinance working group, and updated the requirements for Mobile Food Vending Permints. In 2018, Julia completed the Zero Waste Priniciples & Practices Certification program offered jointly by CRRA and SWANA.
Monica is the Sutainability Manger at Edgar and Associates. She has over 10 years of experience working in the sustainability arena wehre she has led teams in developing sustainability programs for a range of companies including waste haulers and processors, aerospace and manufacturing. she has played a leadership role in assisting companies to develop strong sustainability and environmental programs, securing grant funding and strategically acheive desired goas, including how to incorporate carbon projects into their business to meet their carbon reduction targets. Notably she is assistant the development of zero waste programs, SB 1383 compliance plans, and cutting-edge approaches to the management of edible food.
