The list of resources included here and in the "Zero Waste Toolkit" were developed as the result of a cooperative contract between the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region Nine. The title of the project, "Zero Waste for Rural Communities", reflects the focus on strategies for incorporating zero waste plans, policies and programs into existing waste management and discard recovery systems, in order to maximize recovery and reduction, and to minimize the need to use scarce human and financial resources in creating new plans, policies and programs. We hope you will find these resources to be helpful and informative in your efforts to achieve zero waste in your community.
