The CRRA Board formed the Recyclers Global Warming Council in April 2007, and appointed a five-member Executive Committee. Formation followed the March 2007 CRRA workshop “Reducing Greenhouse Gases Through Composting Organics”. The Council prepared and presented its “Resource Plan to Reduce Greenhouse Gases” at the May 2007 CIWMB hearing on early action measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Council also has worked to apply the U.S. E.P.A. WAste Reduction Model (WARM) to California’s disposed resource stream.
MIssion Statement:
The Recyclers Global Warming Council (RGWC) represents interests within CRRA to address the issue of greenhouse gases. It identifies resources, facilitates discussions and organizes workshops and Conference panels to inform government representatives and other interested parties about the effects of greenhouse gases in our environment and how eliminating waste, reuse, recycling and composting can minimize that impact. The Council works with other organizations with similar interests to advocate Zero Waste policies and programs to reduce greenhouse gases.
