California Resource Recovery Association

The California Resource Recovery Association is soliciting nominations for recycling and waste reduction recognition to be presented at the NRC Conference and CRRA Welcome Reception in San Francisco. This year, recognition will be grouped into the listed nomination headings for CRRA service and a separate category for Recycler of the Year.

1) Recycler of the Year Award 2) CRRA Service Awards

  • Individual(s)
  • Business/industry
  • Institutions (schools, hospitals, etc)
  • Non-profit/community organizations
  • Government (local, state, tribes, federal)

Awards to be presented will recognize the most innovative program, the best new partnership, the most recycling achievement (by percentage), the most community participation achieved (by percentage), the best new public outreach program, and the best new diversion program implemented, among others. Other criteria include creativity, comprehensiveness, and the quality of information provided in the nomination form. Preference will be given to CRRA members in deciding award recipients.

The Awards Committee must receive all nominations by 5PM , Tuesday, August 17, 2004 to allow time for award evaluation, selection and notification. Only current CRRA members may submit nominations Questions regarding the process may be submitted via e-mail, fax, or regular mail service to:

To submit a nomination, please provide the following information on not more than one sheet of paper, double-sided. Self-nominations are invited. All nominations received will be acknowledged. If you do not receive acknowledgement within two weeks of submittal, please follow up with the Awards Committee Chair.
