Justin Weiss, Chair

Bio: Justin Weiss joined the California Product Stewardship (CPSC) in November 2017 as an Associate. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Arizona in 2010 and completed his Master’s degree in 2019 from California State University, San Jose. At CPSC, Justin is the lead staffer on numerous grant projects focused on HHW.

 

David Jones

City of Lancaster, Environmental Compliance Officer

Bio: David Jones is an experienced sustainability professional with a lengthy experience managing sustainability initiatives. David’s knowledge of sustainability is extensive, spanning multiple functions including policy development, environmental audits and risk assessments, ISO 14001, instructional development and delivery, and social and environmental supply chain management. David is currently the Environmental Compliance Officer for the City of Lancaster CA and manages the City’s household hazardous waste program.

 

Doug Kobold

Bio: Doug has worked in the Solid Waste and Recycling industry for over 28 years. He accepted the position of Executive Director for the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) in August 2018. As Executive Director, his duties include responsibility for leading strategic coalition development, including long-term program strategy and resource development. The Executive Director is also responsible for leading staff and coalition members, while adhering to CPSC’s goals, mission, and vision. Over all, the Executive Director is specifically responsible for financial management, fundraising, governance, personnel supervision, and special programs.

 

Donald Watkins

Nate Pelczar

California Product Stewardship Council, Special Project Manager

Bio: Nate joined the California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) in 2018 as a Program Manager. Mr. Pelczar manages CPSC’s largest grant project, the California Drug Take-Back Program (DTBP), via a $3 million grant from California Department of Health Care Services to combat the opioid epidemic. The grant allows CPSC to install over 300 medicine take-back bins to communities across California which will ultimately be taken-over by the drug producers when SB 212 (a bill driven by CPSC), is implemented by 2022. Mr. Pelczar is also involved in the management of over a dozen grants related to the reduction of household hazardous waste, single-use propane cylinders, and other material management issues.
