SB 20 (Sher) Electronic Manufacturers' Responsibility |
| |

a. |
Lifecycle Product Responsibility: Requires manufacturers to take responsibility for their hazardous electronic devices when they reach end-of-life. |

You can help by: Write a letter of support to the Assembly Appropriations Committee Chair, Darrell Steinberg, as well as your Assembly representative(s). Send a copy to CAW. |

AB586 (Koretz) Litter and Marine Reduction and Recycling Act. |
| |

a. |
Advance Litter Collection Fees: Requires every retail seller to pay a litter reduction and recycling fee of $0.02 to the state for each disposable cup or bag sold that contains less than 40% postconsumer recycled content. Half of funds collected from the fee will be used to establish block grants to cities and counties for litter cleanup and related activities. The bill will help agencies such as CalTrans, State Parks, the Coastal Commission and others to carry out litter cleanup volunteer events and non-profit grant programs. The bill is projected to raise $200-300 million annually. |

SB 204 (Perata) Diaper stewardship |

Lifecycle Product Responsibility: Requires manufacturers to take responsibility for the stewardship of the diapers they sell in the state. This includes creating and implementing a plan for the collection and recycling of their products. |

SB 645 - Compliance Report on Recycled Plastic Trash Bags. |
| |
|
a. |
Content Requirements Need Monitoring: Requires the waste board to publish a list of manufacturers who have failed to comply with the 30% postconsumer recycled content requirements on plastic trash bags of 0.75 mil or greater thickness. |
