Course Requirements
Individuals desiring to pursue certification will need to complete the following:

Thirty-two (32) hours of training, or approximately, eight seminars of 4-hours each. Depending upon years in the industry, the coursework is as follows: |

a. |
Individuals with less than five years work related experience: requires the completion of
- 12-hours of Introduction to Resource Management Coursework, comprised of
- Introduction to Recycling & Rethinking Wastes 101A - (6 hours)
- Introduction to Resource Management & Zero Waste 101B - (6 hours)
- Plus completion of an additional 20-hours or 5 seminars from a selection of elective courses.

Individuals with five years or more work related experience: requires the completion of 32 -hours of instruction of the individuals choice, from a selection of both 101 and elective courses. |

Completion of a test with a passing score for each course. |

Completion of three short surveys for each course, plus a 6-month and 12-month follow-up survey. These surveys are designed to collect and measure achievable results and outcomes corresponding to the training received. |

Completion of an “Information to Action Project”. This part of the certification is at the discretion of the individual to design. The “Action Project” is an overview of at least one action the employee will take to put information received into action helpful to resource management or conservation. The project, developed in consultation with one or more of the CRRA instructors, is at the students discretion. The project should be something that the individual will plan to implement or expand/improve upon current practices which increases diversion of materials, reduces disposal at landfills, reduces consumption of natural resources and/or decreases CO2 emissions. |
Submitted papers and data on measurable results will be placed on an internet library as a resource for CRRA members.
Upon completion of all steps, an individual will become a “CRRA Certified Resource Management Professional”. Certificates will be provided for each course completed and a plaque upon final completion of all requirements.
Certification is current for 12-month following completion of all requirements. To maintain certification, individuals will be required to complete 8-hours per year of additional training.
