Construction and Demolition Council

Mission Statement:
The Construction Demolition Council (CDC) promotes the advancement and enhancement of construction and demolition (C&D) resource material recovery practices, and strives to expand C&D recovery infrastructure and markets. CDC advocates the incorporation of Green Building principles into C&D ordinances and projects.

CDC Members:
CDC is comprised of salvage operators, recyclers, processors, consultants, waste haulers, builders, deconstruction experts and local government officials dedicated to advancing C&D waste recovery, reuse and Green Building principles.

CDC Goals:
  1. Provide a conduit for C&D reuse and recycling as well as Green Building information exchange.
  2. Identify C&D debris recovery efforts and opportunities throughout the State and circulate information via the website, workshops and listserv.
  3. Facilitate education for CDC and CRRA members which can generate interest and support from the general public for C&D reuse and recycling programs and practices.
  4. Design new C&D ordinances and/or programs that partner with green building programs to encourage more C&D reuse and/or recycling.
  5. Develop the CDC website as a useful tool for education and information.
  6. Look at bones of C&D ordinances and see how they can be amended and modified to help reach Zero Waste goals.
  7. Provide education on the new statewide green building standards.
