CCRC Student Scholarship Recipient!

The California Collegiate Recycling Council congratulates Zoë Carlson for receiving the $500 Student Scholarship to the California Resource Recovery Association 29th Annual Conference in Los Angeles .

Zoë is the 2005/2006 Associated Students Environmental Senator for California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB). Due to the abundance of recyclable and reusable material produced and discarded on campus, Zoë is inspired to design, implement, and institutionalize a more effective recycling program at CSUMB for her senior project. She hopes that attending the CRRA conference will provide her with valuable experience and insight into creating a better campus collection program, as well as expose her to programming examples and recycling techniques.

After the conference, she plans to disseminate the support, inspiration, and knowledge she gains with the University community in hopes of reducing waste over time.
