Millennium Biltmore Hotel
Designated an historic land-mark in 1969, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel has been home to presidents and Hollywood celebrities since it opened to national acclaim in 1923.
Among the momentous events heldat the Biltmore was the founding banquet for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It was at this dinner on May 11, 1927 that the concept and design for the “Oscar” were conceived as a sketch on a napkin.
The Biltmore Hotel is located at 506 S. Grand Avenue at Fifth, in the financial and cultural heart of downtown Los Angeles. It is within close proximity to the Music Center, the Civic Center, theaters, shopping and restaurants.
